The Cyberport University Partnership Programme supported by Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) is a life-changing experience to unleash participants’ full potential and gain insights into the global market!
The nominated students have unique chance to participate in Overseas Entrepreneurship Boot Camp and receive mentorship from local and international industry elites. The winning teams will receive HK$100,000 grant from CCMF.

Techathon+ 2024
Hong Kong Techathon+ 2024 is an exciting challenge co-organised by HKSTP and 10 Hong Kong local universities. Techathon 2024 attracted more than 1400 university students and alumni in Hong Kong, and The University of Hong Kong has 12 teams admitted into the shortlisted teams (one of the top 3 amounts of all). The event will be held on January 26-28, 2024, at HKSTP 10W. Stay tuned for more updates!

"Nothing to Lose: A Unicorn Story from an HKU Engineering Alumnus" was held on January 15th, 2024, with a full house attendance. The event featured the incredible journey of Mr. Chiu Chau, a successful underdog builder, founder, and investor. His insights and lessons will undoubtedly guide the new generation of HKU students in finding their paths.

49th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions
We are excited to announce that 36 projects from HKU have been selected to represent our university at the 49th GIEI (Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions). This achievement sets a new record for the highest number of HKU inventions participating in the event.

RAISe+ application cohort 1
The Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+) Scheme under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) aims to support eight designated universities and their research teams in transforming and commercializing research and development (R&D) outcomes into successful startups within five years. The scheme consists of two stages: (a) the transformation and realization of R&D outcomes in three years, and (b) the initiation of commercialization within the remaining project period.
The ITF organizes two application solicitation exercises every twelve months, with each university allowed to submit up to 15 applications per exercise.
First Cohort 15 applications have been submitted successfully and are under ITC assessment.

TSSSU 24/25
The Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) aims to provide better support for technology start-ups to translate new ideas into business opportunities. The scheme is on annual basis and provides in total HK$16 million funding.
For TSSSU@HKU 2024-25, 24 applications have been selected and recommended to ITC for approval.
