Successful Completion of the First "HK Innovation Journey" 

On 18 July, HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Academy (TEA) concluded its first "HK Innovation Journey" with a visit to Shenzhen Kim Dai Intelligence. Founded by HKU alumnus Mr. Ivan Wong, the high-tech firm specializes in automotive, electronics, and medical equipment. Participants toured facilities, discussed industry trends, and gained valuable insights into entrepreneurship.

HKU Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge (InnoValley) Update 

For the 2025 HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge (InnoValley), the semi-finalists in the Hong Kong and Overseas Division mainly focused on fields such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, new materials, and new energy. These projects covered sectors like medical devices, educational tools, robotics, and chip research. Notably, 51% of projects have already achieved commercialisation, indicating significant progress in bringing innovative ideas to market. Additionally, 53% of participating teams include members affiliated with HKU, emphasising our strong community. With 43% of entries reflecting international diversity from esteemed institutions such as HKU, Stanford, and Harvard, we are proud to showcase a mix of Eastern and Western innovation. The semi-finals were judged by a panel of experts from organisations including the HKU Entrepreneurship Engine Fund, HKU Super Angel Network, and other institutions, who will assess startups competing to progress to the Grand Finals. All projects that qualify for the Grand Finals will be eligible to join HKU's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants will have access to the co-creation space iDendron in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, enabling them to become part of the entrepreneurial community.
