Biography
John Bacon-Shone is currently Associate Director of the Knowledge Exchange Office as well as being Associate Dean (Knowledge Exchange), Interim Head of Sociology, and Director of the Social Sciences Research Centre in the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. He is an applied statistician by training and was headhunted to be a full-time member of the Central Policy Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government from 1998 to 2001. His diverse research interests include compositional data, gambling, immigration and population policy, open access, privacy policy and telephone survey methodology.
