Abstract:

We are in the higher education in order to change lives and build tomorrow. "Do you have rich friends?" "I need funds but hate to beg." Do away with myths in 2016 - Fundraising is not about money, but partnership in mission. Let's examine how to reach out, and how influence and impact can in turn shape and define success.

About the Speaker:

Bernadette Tsui is the Director of the Development & Alumni Affairs Office, Executive Director of the HKU Foundation, and Professor of Practice at the Faculty of Social Sciences, who teaches and conducts research in philanthropy, fundraising, NGO management and civil society. She is author of "The City with a Heart – Stories of Giving from Hong Kong and Hong Kong University," which documents Hong Kong's tradition of charity and fundraising. The pioneering book also explores the successes and failures, the challenges and future trends of giving in Hong Kong, a robust city that has consistently been ranked at the top in the World Giving Index.
